Meniscus Transplant Operation in association with RTI Biologics^® and Hospital Innovations

In June 2011, Mr Tim Spalding, a leading Orthopaedic Surgeon here in the UK, had his Meniscal Allograft Transplantation surgery filmed. The three hour long case was edited by Mr Spalding into a highly engaging and informative 12 minute documentary of this complex operative technique.

The video, recorded at Mr Spalding’ primary residence, University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust, has generated great peer accolade for Mr Spalding; and further, has been deservedly awarded “Best Alwin Jäger Video” by the judging panel at ESSKA (European Society of Sports Traumatology Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy). Mr Spalding is due to be presented the award at the 15th ESSKA Congress this May.

The graft in the procedure was obtained by RTI Biologics^® tissue bank and was supplied to Mr Spalding by Hospital Innovations. We are proud to be associated with this video and congratulate Mr Spalding on his important contribution to orthopaedic sports medicine.
